Psychological Interventions and Therapy

We provide psychological therapy, trauma counseling and group work for children, adolescents, and young adults who face various social, emotional & behavioural challenges. We also provide trauma counseling for adults, parents, teachers and professionals dealing with children on a day to basis. TRAUMA COUNSELING Trauma counseling involves various therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). EMDR helps individuals let go of distressing thoughts and feelings related to traumatic experiences and is effective in treating conditions such as PTSD, phobias, panic disorder, anxiety, depression, grief, and personality disorders. Similarly, EFT is a clinically proven technique used to work on psychological and emotional issues, promote relaxation and healing, and effectively resolve traumas experienced by clients. It can be used to work on a range of issues, including stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, phobias, beliefs, and troubling memories. PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPY The psychological therapies offered include behaviour modification, which aims to reduce maladaptive behaviours in children and adults by identifying the antecedent and consequences of the problem behaviour(s) and manipulating certain variables through reinforcers; play therapy, which uses play as a medium of expression for children to explore their emotions and gain insights into their problems, and expressive arts therapy, which is a multimodal approach combining psychology and the creative process to promote personal growth and healing through visual art, music, dance/movement, writing, play, and drama. These therapies are effective for a range of mental health issues in children, adolescents, and young people, such as anxiety, phobias, trauma, and behavioural or conduct issues. GROUP WORK Group sessions offer a supportive and safe environment for people with similar experiences to come together and learn from each other. The group sessions provided include a space for teenagers with mood disorders to interact, support groups for children and adolescents with social communication difficulties to learn social skills, and a wellbeing group initiative using expressive arts therapy for pre-teens, adolescents, and young adults to explore self-expression. These sessions can be conducted both online and offline and guided by trained mental health care professionals. We also curate support groups on a need basis. Trainings and Capacity Building

UPSKILLING COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS While mental health awareness and the number of professionals have increased in many countries, including India, the quality of services often remains inadequate. To bridge this gap, we collaborate with community organizations to upskill their staff, psychologists, field workers and mental health personnel, equipping them with a diverse and specialized skill set. Our capacity-building initiatives ensure that mental health professionals are better prepared to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. DELIVERING MENTAL HEALTH CARE IN CONFLICT-AFFECTED REGIONS Providing mental health support in conflict-affected regions is crucial, as individuals in these areas often experience trauma, anxiety, depression, and other psychological distress. We deploy trained psychologists and mental health professionals to offer specialized care, ensuring that those impacted by political violence receive the necessary support and resources to cope, heal, and rebuild their lives. By addressing these urgent mental health needs, we contribute to fostering resilience and long-term recovery in affected communities.

We have delivered programs in Latur, Begusarai, Kochi, Thrissur, Rourkela, Guwahati, Jammu, Hojai, Greenfield, Bhubaneshwar, Bhopal, Srinagar, Bawana, Faridabad, Puducherry, Bhimtal, Raipur and Shillong. As emotional distress became more evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, the interventions adopted from certain renowned empirically proven techniques such as neuro-linguistic programming, eye movement desensitization, reprocessing, acceptance therapy, narrative therapy, Yoga, etc. The techniques are used to regulate their negative emotions, create emotional stability, break overthinking patterns, and build positive relationships. The program leads to significant reduction in levels of symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression as well as a significant increase in the levels of self-efficacy of participants.

Assessments

As an initial step, we conduct psychological assessments to identify and address mental health concerns. It involves evaluating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to determine the most appropriate type of treatment. We offer psychological assessments for a range of conditions, including intellectual and developmental abilities, learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, psychological disorders like anxiety and mood disorders, personality assessment, and behavioral issues.

Psychiatric Services

We provide a range of treatments for children and adolescents after an assessment and diagnosis such as pharmacotherapy, biomedical interventions, such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy and special diets, nutritional supplements and chelation therapy. So far, we have extended our interventions to Lucknow, Calcutta, Guwahati, and Imphal. The National Mental Health Survey in India found that 83% of people with mental health problems do not receive any treatment, particularly in rural areas with a shortage of mental health professionals. We aim to increase access to psychiatric services in tier 2 and 4 cities by increasing mental health professionals, raising awareness, and implementing community-based interventions. The expected outcomes include increased access, reduced treatment gap, and improved mental health outcomes in these areas.

Parenting

PARENTING & CHILD CARE PROGRAM Our professionals can deliver the Responsible Childcare program to parents of different socio economic status, cultures and children of various age groups throughout India. 5000+ parents, 1000+ caretakers and 500+ teachers have previously attended parenting workshops and benefitted from the skills.   PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR PARENTS Individual sessions (delivered to 100+ parents) focussed on personal development for parents to ensure self-awareness, developing new skills, and promoting self-care. By prioritizing their own growth and well-being, parents can create a positive environment for their children and model healthy behavior.   Parenting can pose a range of demanding and challenging situations that can lead to high levels of stress and emotional burden for parents. Fortunately, therapy can provide them with the tools to effectively manage their emotions and develop healthy coping strategies. Establishing good communication skills is paramount in cultivating healthy parent-child relationships, and therapy can help parents better comprehend and respond to their child's needs and concerns. Furthermore, customizing parenting strategies to suit the child's individual temperament can enhance the quality of the parent-child relationship. Parents who have undergone traumatic experiences can also benefit from psychological interventions to address past traumas, thereby enabling them to become more responsive to their child's needs.

Working with Schools:

Awareness Sessions for Teachers, Counsellors and Principals

Understanding Autism and Beyond

As part of our commitment to building inclusive and emotionally supportive school environments, we conducted a series of awareness sessions with teachers, counsellors, and school principals focused on understanding autism and broader child mental health needs. These sessions created a space for educators to learn about early signs, inclusive classroom practices, and empathetic engagement with children who experience developmental and emotional challenges. Through interactive discussions and real-life insights, the initiative aimed to strengthen the capacity of schools to respond with sensitivity, reduce stigma, and promote a culture of acceptance and support for every child. The sessions reflect our ongoing effort to work closely with educational institutions to make mental health awareness and inclusion a shared responsibility.
