Dr. Kiran Modi

Advisor 

 Dr. Kiran Modi is the Founder and Managing Trustee of Udayan Care, an organization she established in 1994 in Delhi, India, to provide group homes for orphaned and at-risk children. With a doctorate in American Literature from IIT Delhi, she brings a wealth of experience across diverse fields, including child protection, media, health, and children's theatre.Beyond leading alternative care programs for 'Out of Home Care' children, she spearheads education and livelihood initiatives for disadvantaged girls and youth. Passionate about improving standards in alternative care, she actively engages in training, research, and publishing papers on child and youth care. She is also the Founder Editor of the international bi-annual journal Institutionalised Children: Explorations and Beyond (ICEB), which focuses on alternative care.A dedicated "Mentor Mother" to many children and youth, Dr. Modi provides personalized care and guidance. Recognized with numerous prestigious awards, she remains committed to advocating for the rights and well-being of underprivileged children and youth, continuing her work with the same passion and dedication that inspired her journey over two and a half decades ago.
